This blog is being used as an environment to house my ideas, thought process and progress for my BFA Thesis Show in May. The show celebrates a bulb's transformation into a hyacinth from fall to spring.

I like the bottom one best. Would like to see you work more with backgrounds. What about setting up to shoot in the same place you'll be showing the work, to integrate it. Keep backgrounds out of focus, but you could do some very nice things in the trees etc to bring color into it...shooting daytime and at twilight with mixed color. Celebrate ahead of time....make the spot where you're exhibiting exciting in the photos.
Go back and look at the photo you took for the color class with your bouquet of flowers...background is interesting. Don't need to be so sparce to clarify the subject.
Look carefully at the images for composition....watch where your eye lands...is the subject cut off or does your eye go to some extraneous detail rather than where you want it to go. The brain is a funny thing, wandering freely from one charming moment to the next as it pleases. Help the viewer by directing attention and flow through an image/images to maximize the viewing experience to engage them for content and feeling. This can be a subtle thing, but requires spending time looking at your own images as if you did not make them yourself. Let go and look deeply for what your mind wants in the image.
Put it in the next shot....reaching always for the sublime.
I agree with MJ--last one. Nice detail shot, good focus...I was just looking at these again, your sugared violet turned out beautifully. I would love to see an even closer shot of the violet detail. Get more of a range of very close shots; take some shots from unexpected angles.--you don't have to use them if you don't like them, but I think you may be suprised what you end up with.
